Welcome to Strange Loop Recording & Recording Studios
What? - A purpose built recording, rehearsal and music tuition complex.
Where? - Situated above the COOP on Welling High Street, Welling, Kent, England.
When? - Every single day of the year untill late, whenever it suits you.
Why? - We're in it for the music, making friends and because we want to do something good.
Our facilities - The rooms available
- 1. The Main Live Room
A 35 square metre room within a room, built from scratch specifically to provide a sound proofed space with a flat response perfect for recording in.
It has everything you'll ever need and comes complete with a powerful PA/headphone monitoring system and a selection of out board gear that you can use as you like.
The room is completely patchable and can be easily adapted for all recording requirements. At the moment it can facilitate 24 track simultaneous recordings direct to hard disk.
There are flat panel monitors mounted in every room which simultaneously display what the recording engineer is doing on the main computer (very useful as a learning tool). The monitors can also double as TV's if you fancy watching something during a rehearsal!.
The room is light, clean and comfortable and has proven itself to be a nice environment to spend time working in. - 2. The Drum Room
Built inside the main room and occupies one corner of the space. It is completely independent of the main room, by this we mean it is sound proofed and has a door so the drummer can make as much noise as he or she wants, without deafening everyone else!
The Drum Room has it's own headphone monitoring system and a window overlooking the main room so your drummer doesn't get left feeling isolated or unwanted. - 3. The Midi/Sequencing/Sampling Room
Outside of the main room, it has synths, samplers, electronic drums, a 32 track mixer, it's own monitoring setup, a computer, and lots of gadgets covered in knobs and assorted controllers.
The Midi/Sequencing/Sampling Room can be used independantly or in tandem with the other rooms. You can come in and create backing tracks or complete arrangements and once you've got something down, you can patch it into the main room and add all manner of live instruments and vocals. - 4. The Piano Room
A spacious airy room containing a nice Yamaha upright and a computer. It is linked to all the other rooms, so it is possible to patch and record live piano, jam with a band in the main room or sample/sequence your playing via the Midi/Sequencing/Sampling Room.
At any time you can monitor what's happening live in any of the other rooms. It can also double as a vocal booth if the need arises.
